What is this page about?

This page is designed to offer information and/or insights (such as they may be) that relate to my specific area of study, which is the assessment and pedorthic treatment of issues relating to the foot and ankle.  I will offer information about a variety of different foot, ankle, and lower leg conditions (some speaking as a C.Ped, others as just a guy who has a lot of experience working with people in specialty running stores).  Check out the descriptons of common foot conditions below to see some examples .  I will also try to answer specific questions, which can be asked by e-mailing me at wrccped@gmail.com. Additionally, I will offer suggestions for keeping feet healthy and injury-free, as well as thoughts about a number of subjects related to foot health and/or running.  If there's something you'd like to see discussed here, let me know.  I'm open to suggestions.

Common Injuries and Conditions

On this portion of the Wasatch Running Center web page, I will attempt to provide some information regarding common foot and ankle injuries experienced by runners, walkers, and other active individuals.  Certified Pedorthists do not diagnose medical conditions or diseases, nor do they provide prescriptions or prognoses.  Accordingly, the information contained on this page is not intended to diagnose or treat any condition, injury, or disease.  If you believe you may have a condition that requires a medical diagnosis and/or treatment, visit a qualified physician.

What follows is a brief description of a few problems we see regularly in the store, along with common causes and treatments for these conditions.  Again, this is not intended to serve as a diagnosis or recommended treatment for any individual.  The descriptions that follow are intended to help educate active people about common ailments and conditions, as well as how we address such issues in the store.
